Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club

Serena + Kodin's Medicine Hat Golf & Country Club Wedding

Wedding days can be stressful to say the least, but when things don't go quite as planned things can get a little overwhelming for the couple. Once the bride or groom start to show anxiety, everyone will feel the pressure to do what they can to ensure the couple enjoys the best day possible.

One of the first things that can put a "damper" on your wedding plans is weather. For Serena and Kodin, that is exactly what happened. They had planned on a scenic outdoor wedding at Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club with the spectacular view of the coulees and South Saskatchewan River. However, when the rain started to pour, friends and family banded together to move the ceremony inside the clubhouse and the dream of perfect outdoor portraits had to be moved indoors, too.

Fortunately, for these two, as the day progressed the rain stopped and the sun started to shine. Serena compared the weather to her mood. She was so anxious at the beginning of the day with the stormy weather and uncertainty of how the day would play out. But when things came together and turned out well, she felt a huge weight had been lifted just as the clouds. The sun was shining and the evening ended with the most perfect sunset portraits outside.

Words from the Bride:
"I just wanted to give a big huge THANK YOU to these wonderful folks! We worked mainly with Andrea Woods and she is one beautiful soul! She did an amazing job on our family, engagement and my boudoir pics and our wedding pictures. The professionalism is outstanding and the quality is second to none! Small details like making sure lighting is perfect or helping with us pose just right show the pride in workmanship, not to mention they are just so friendly you'll feel like you made life long friends! I would highly recommend them to anyone! Thank you so much again."

Keith + Amy's Wedding at Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club | Medicine Hat Wedding Photographers

Keith and Amy held their wedding at Medicine Hat Golf and Country Club, which has the most fantastic view of the city! Although the flood had damaged much of the bank around the South Saskatchewan River a few years ago, guests can enjoy a completely open view from the coulees in Police Point Park all the way to Finlay Bridge and even the peaks of majestic St. Patrick's Church, not to mention the possibility of catching a glimpse of a Mavericks Ball game at Athletic park (from a distance, of course).

It was a small wedding gathering of those family and friends here in Medicine Hat. The bride's family was unable to travel the distance overseas for the affair, so these two had double wedding plans in the midst. We are happy we were able to celebrate with these two to capture their day from their first looks before the ceremony to the portraits session in the park. Not all couples need full day wedding photography coverage and this is a great example of how you can make the most of a few short moments with your photographer.
